"Bandarra" is a Spanish colloquial for a dirty rotten scoundrel or a rogue
What is a porrón?
The porrón is a cultural tradition in Spain – a glass pitcher made specifically for serving wine in a way that’s fun, communal, and hygienic. The custom originated in Catalonia (northeastern Spain), though it was likely not the first object of its kind. A similar invention made of clay, called a “briq,” has been used especially in Lebanon and Syria for sharing tea and water with guests without having to touch lips to the vessel. The first kind of porrón may even date back to ancient Rome – a cone-shaped cup called the “rhyton” that sometimes had a hole to drink from the bottom. Fortunately, the modern Spanish porrón is a bit more user-friendly. Ask your server to show you how it’s done!
